Hello everyone,
Study the light and shadow of these basic forms, they form diverse objects in the nature. Observing , understanding ''how'' the shape of each shadow is created on each form will give you a better idea how to handle the shading in the rendering of your subject.
One thing to remember when you do the rendering ( which means ''shading'' too) of your subject:
* DECIDE THE POSITION OF YOUR LIGHT SOURCE
FIRST( FOR DIRECTIONAL LIGHTING)
BEFORE YOU START TO DO THE RENDERING. The shading is done accordingly after the direction of you light source.
YOU CAN NOT HAVE A GOOD RENDERING WITH A ''GENERAL LIGHTING'' The viewer has to feel that the light source is above, below... from the left, the right, 45 degree high, low, or from the back....
EXERCISE
Render more, different objects of your choice. Using the 2 approachs: starting with dark mass or the half tone mass first. The light tone is always at the end
DARK -HALF -LIGHT tone
or HALF-DARK- LIGHT tone
