How to darken or lighten the colours

Note: If you want to lower ( make it less intense, duller, more pastel ....) the intensity of one colour,  There are some different ways to do it depending on the need or the result that you're looking for.

1) Mix that colour with  its complementary ( its opposite) colour on the colour wheel" Ex:

Red_ Green

Yellow- Purple

Orange-Blue

2) Mix it with another colour of  opposite temperature Cool against Warm or vice versa.

3) Mix it with black or White, of course you will change the  tonality too in this case.
